Violence Intervention Services

Our Violence Intervention Services are designed to help men, women, and adolescents who have committed acts of violence against someone else, or who struggle managing feelings of anger and the behaviors that come with those feelings.

Men, Anger, Recovery & Support (MARS): A 26-week treatment program for men who struggle to stop controlling and/or abusive behaviors in their relationships. Participants can be self-referred or court-ordered. Emphasis is given to the social and cultural factors that lead to domestic violence. Groups meet on various days/times throughout each week and are available in English and Spanish.

Female Anger Intervention & Recovery (FAIR): A 26-week treatment program for women who struggle to stop controlling and/or abusive behaviors in their relationships. Participants can be self-referred or court-ordered. Emphasis is given to the social and cultural factors that lead to violence by women in relationships. Groups meet on various days/times throughout each week.

Adult Anger Management: A co-educational group intended to help adult (age 18 and older) participants increase empathy, decrease stress, and improve communication and listening skills. Participants can: 1) Learn to manage anger effectively, 2) Stop violence or the threat of violence, 3) Develop self-control over thoughts and actions, and 4) Receive support from others. Groups meet on various days/times throughout each week.

Teen Anger Management: A co-educational group intended to help teen (age 12-17) participants increase empathy, decrease stress, and improve communication and listening skills. Participants can: 1) Learn to manage anger effectively, 2) Stop violence or the threat of violence, 3) Develop self-control over thoughts and actions, and 4) Receive support from others. Groups meet on various days/times throughout each week.

Adult Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): A co-educational group for adults (age 18 and older) who have difficulty regulating their emotions, causing reactive and often self-destructive behavior in their personal and professional lives. Participants learn the skills necessary to tolerate and regulate negative emotions. Groups meet weekly on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:00p.m.

Teen Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): A co-educational group for teens/adolescents (age 12-17) who have difficulty regulating their emotions. These struggles can lead to self-destructive patterns in relationships, school, and work life. Participants learn the skills necessary to tolerate and regulate negative emotions. Group meets weekly on Thursdays from 6-7:00p.m.

DUI Risk Education: This 10-hour program required for DUI clients whose evaluations indicate minimal, moderate or significant risk. Groups meet on various days/times throughout each week.

Substance Abuse Counseling Group: This group is for clients with DUI evaluations of moderateor, significant or high risk, as well as clients seeking substance abuse treatment. Groups meet on various days/times throughout each week.
