Family Counseling Service’s Intensive Outpatient (IOP) program involves intensive individual, family and group mental health treatment intended to reduce the risk of psychiatric hospitalization for at-risk youth ages 13-17.
Services are scheduled a minimum of 5 days per week, 4 hours per day. Clients are must attend a minimum of 9 hours of programming per week; parents/guardians must also participate in the family-based portion of treatment (approximately 2 hours per week).
The IOP program combines clinical mental health intervention services with life skills training activities.
Eligible clients are:
1. Age 13-17 (younger children and adolescents are in separate treatment tracks)
3. Currently stepping down from psychiatric hospitalization; OR in need of intensive treatment to stabilize a mental health crisis to prevent hospitalization
4. Diagnosable with a mental health/behavioral condition that requires treatment
