Do you struggle with difficult clients or feel like you are walking a tightrope with your clients? Do you work with clients who are chronically suicidal or constantly “pushing” your limits and decreasing your motivation to work with them? If you answered YES!; then DBT is for you. DBT is a combination of dialectic philosophy and behavioral therapy to address problematic behavior, the client’s behaviors as well as yours as the clinician. You will learn to find your balance while walking a tightrope over the Grand Canyon with difficult and challenging clients.

Course objectives:

Participants will be able to:
•Define Borderline Personality Disorder in behavioral terms
•Explain the Biosocial Theory and the importance of validation
•Teach skills to assist clients in obtaining a “life worth living”
•Recognize clients who may benefit from DBT – It’s No Longer Just for Borderline Personality Disorder
