The distinction between art therapy and art as therapy can become somewhat of a blurred line. Learn more about the difference, duties/ tasks, applications, and the steps to become a registered Art Therapist. During one’s professional career, one may run into obstacles along the way where an individual may have difficulty verbally expressing their feelings, thoughts, or emotions. Art therapy can be used to treat a variety of psychological disorders and many times it is used in combination with other psychotherapy techniques. Art therapy helps individuals being treated to communicate emotions more effectively, identify and manage life stressors, and help treat medically related conditions by improving their quality of life, through creative expression.
