About the Presenter:Ana Mejia acquired her master’s degree in Counseling and Art Therapy from Adler University and her Bachelor degree from Aurora University with a Major in Psychology and a Minor in Art. Ana was an AVIC in the early 2000’s volunteering to teach art to grade school and middle school students due to the art program being cut from the curriculum. Ana was a presenter at the Annual Art Volunteer in the Classroom conference, presenting on art experientials that other AVIC volunteers could utilize in their classrooms. Having been employed at Senior Services Associates for over 9 years, Ana has experience in working with the senior population of 60+. Ana currently specializes in working with adults and adolescents experiencing anxiety, depression, BPD or trauma, utilizing art therapy, CBT and DBT skills.
