Family Counseling Service Staff Spotlight: Kyle Jennings, MS
Q: How did you learn about FCS and what made you decide to work here?
A: I was an intern in Springfield, IL and wanted to help a client transfer his therapy to the Western Suburbs. I must have left 10 voicemails with 10 mental health agencies, but I only received one response – Family Counseling Service. The staff helped me get my client set up and ready to go in no time at all. When I eventually moved to the area to be near family, I immediately knew that I wanted to reach out and work for FCS.
Q: What is your role at FCS?
A: I’m a Behavioral Health Therapist. I work with clients by providing individual therapy and DBT skills training groups.
Q: What type of clients/patients do you work with?
A: I work with people aged 13 and older, with most of them being adults. My clients have diverse goals, needs, and backgrounds, but I do specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
Q: What do you think makes FCS special / what should people know about FCS?
A: In the almost 7 years I’ve been with FCS, the agency has grown wildly in its abilities to meet the unique needs of nearly anyone who walks through the doors. The services offered and the clinicians available make this a welcoming place for just about any problem or goal that people may have.
Q: What is your most memorable moment from working at FCS?
A: It’s hard to pinpoint a moment, but I have worked with many clients and coworkers that I truly enjoyed being around and those memories will stick with me.
Q: What is one thing people don’t know about you?
A: I’m pretty good at drumming and pretty bad at bowling.
