Safe Passage is DeKalb County’s Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Crisis Center.  We provide emergency care to victims and survivors fleeing abuse as well as anyone seeking support in the healing process. We provide emergency and transitional housing for domestic violence, counseling, legal advocacy, medical advocacy, case management, professional training, prevention advocacy, and offender intervention.  All of our survivor services are always completely free and confidential.  It is our goal to address issues of violence and abuse from every angle, providing support every step of the way, and actively working to end violence at its source.

Safe Passage serves anyone who has experienced domestic or sexual violence and their loved ones. Whether the abuse you experienced was recent and you’re in need of a safe place to go or help navigating the legal system or whether you experienced abuse years or even decades ago and you’re looking for support as you heal, we are here for you. We work with clients of all ages, genders, and sexual orientations. Abuse can affect anyone and so our services are for everyone.

We’ve been so grateful to be partners with FCS for many years now, helping to train their incredible staff and learning and growing together. We’re passionate about this partnership because FCS shows a deep understanding of trauma and the intersections between domestic violence, sexual assault, and wellness. Not every counseling agency recognizes the importance of having staff trained to recognize domestic violence and support survivors.  That makes the professionals from FCS even more prepared for the incredible work they do. We also love seeing FCS’s commitment to offender intervention and preventing violence at the root of the problem.

A community member passing FCS may not realize how much this agency goes above and beyond to ensure their staff are trained, trauma-informed, and passionate.  We’re lucky to have incredible partners like FCS and look forward to working with them for years to come!
