Through our secure website, the online interface takes you step-by-step through the counseling intake process. This means we collect your relevant financial information, and then one of our qualified professionals reviews it before contacting you directly with a customized action plan. It’s a fast – and safe – way to immediately get started with us.

To prepare for your intake process online, please consider the following:
You will be asked to provide credit-card account numbers and account balances so our credit counselors can properly negotiate with creditors on your behalf. Your information is safe with us; however, you can continue through the process without entering your credit card numbers.

Below is a list of items that you will need while filing an online application. You will also need these items for your first session:

Last two year’s income tax returns
Last two months’ bank statements
Last 30 day proof of income (pay stubs, social security, pension, unemployment, etc.)
A list of monthly expenses (food, gasonline, electric, telephone, water, etc.)
Your most recent credit report – you can retrieve a free copy at www.annualcreditreport.com

Additionally, if you seek housing counseling in the form of a loan modification or foreclosure prevention, please also bring the following items:

Complete mortgage documentation
Hardship letter explaining why your mortgage is or will be late (unemployment, loss of income, medical bills, etc.)
Copy of letter from lender requesting you to attend financial counseling

Please also add your loan # to each of the preceding documents.

Our Commitment To Privacy Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. On some pages, you can donate funds to our Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Kane & Kendall Counties program. You can elect to be recognized for your gift, or to remain anonymous. If you elect to be recognized, your name and the date of your donation are posted on our "Donor Recognition Wall" for the public to see. This is completely voluntary and you may contact us at any time if you wish for your information to be removed from public view.

The Way We Use Information: On our contact forms, we use the information you provide about yourself to determine who best should contact you to assist you with your inquiry. On our donation pages, at your discretion, your information is used to recognize you to the public as a donor. We do not share this information with outside parties.

We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.

We use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design our website and provide useful, current content. This information is collected by Google Analytics.

Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.

Our Commitment To Data Security To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Our Commitment To Children's Privacy: Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are under 13, and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 13.
