Professional Counseling
Master’s level, experienced therapists provide individual, couples, and family counseling services.
Therapy should be viewed as an invitation to reach your full potential and to cope better with the problems of life. Our therapists employ a range of techniques based on experiential relationship building, dialogue, communication and behavior change. These techniques are designed to help you improve your mental health and to help you improve family relationships. The overall goal is to increase your sense of well-being and to help you learn to better manage the discomfort or distress that can occur when facing life’s problems.
Counseling services for couples include couples therapy, pre-marital preparation counseling, marriage therapy, and divorce mediation.
Family Counseling Service staff employ a range of both traditional and cutting edge therapy techniques to help couples in any stage of relationship development. You can call (630) 844-2662 if you have questions about how relationship counseling can be beneficial to you.

Youth Services
Children and adolescents can benefit from therapy to address a variety of presenting problems: out of control behavior, depression, abuse or trauma, difficulty in school, and more.
Family Counseling Service’s child and adolescent therapists are trained and experienced in a variety of intervention techniques, including play therapy, art therapy, behavior modification, and family therapy.
Services are provided in our offices and, through a partnership with Cities in Schools (C.I.S.), in a number of Aurora-area schools.

Older Adult Services
Family Counseling Service’s Older Adult program is for seniors (age 60 and above) who are struggling with loneliness, grief, depression, family relationships, or more.
Staff usually see clients in their homes for regularly scheduled therapy appointments. Services in this program are paid for by a grant and are free to clients.
